The Bend – 7.77 km of premium race track and Australia’s newest motorsport venue, will host its first ever race on the 13th of January. It won’t be the V8’s or MotoGP, but rather the South Australian Criterium Championships and support events.

In what is going to be a huge 24 hours for cycling, the Bend will also be hosting the start of the Women’s Tour Down Under, and the Revolve24 hour endurance challenge.

Due to the length of the circuit, CSA is able to offer racing to almost all grades (including juniors) on what is a once in a life time opportunity to race on a purpose-built race track.

On the day the event will be split into two tracks. A modified western circuit, at just under 2.9km, will be used for the Elite Men’s and Women’s Criterium Championship’s. This will be open to all U19, U23 and Elite licence holders. Racing will commence shortly after the start of the Santos Women’s Tour Down under, with equal prize money being offered to both categories.

On the rear Eastern Circuit, there will be a day packed with racing. Support events start at 9:00 am in the morning and run all the way through to 1:00 PM.

Open to interstate licence holders, it is set to be a fantastic days racing, and an incredibly exciting event. With food trucks and the Bend’s word class facility, it will definitely be an event to add to everyone’s TDU schedule; racer and spectator alike!
